Who we are
The Blind Spot ("we") is a community running events, workshops and content for people doing business in Thailand, through theblindspot-th.com. This notice explains what personal data we collect, how we use it and your rights under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA).
For anything about your personal data, contact hello@theblindspot-th.com.
What we collect
When you register for an event:
- Name, nickname, email, phone, LINE ID, company, position and who invited you (only the fields that event’s form asks for)
- Your name for the certificate, your answers to the form’s questions, and your photo-consent choice
- When you accepted the consent statement on the form
At the event: check-in time, the team you were assigned, lucky-draw results and your Blind Spot Wall answer, plus event photos and video (as per your photo consent).
How you found us: the channel that brought you to the site (e.g. LINE, Facebook, Google, or a campaign name tagged on the link), the referring web address (without its query string) and the first page you opened. If you register, this is saved with your registration.
Site usage: a random browser ID (not linked to your name unless you register) used to count visitors of event pages, and aggregate visit statistics from a website analytics service that uses no cookies and does not identify you.
How we use it
- Handling your registration, tickets and join links, check-in and certificates — to provide the service you signed up for
- Contacting you about events you registered for
- Sending news and upcoming events from The Blind Spot — based on the consent you gave on the form, which you can withdraw at any time
- Publishing event photos — only of people who consented
- Measuring which promotion channels work and improving our events and site — our legitimate interest, looked at in aggregate
- Complying with the law
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share only what is needed with:
- Service providers that help us operate, such as hosting, email delivery, the team’s document tools and website analytics. Some store data on servers outside Thailand; we choose providers with appropriate data-protection safeguards.
- Co-organisers or partners of an event, only where that event’s registration form says so
- Public authorities, when the law requires it
Cookies and browser storage
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. The site only stores:
- bs-lang (cookie) — remembers your language
- bs-dev (cookie) — on the Blind Spot Wall page, so each device answers once
- bs-theme (browser storage) — remembers light/dark mode
- bs-src (browser storage) — a random browser ID and the channel that brought you (looked back 30 days), to measure our promotion
You can clear these at any time in your browser settings. If we ever add advertising tools or non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first.
How long we keep it
We keep data only as long as needed to run our events and community activities for the purposes above. After that we delete or anonymise it, and you can ask us to delete it sooner.
Your rights
Under the PDPA you have the right to:
- Access and get a copy of your data
- Have it corrected
- Have it deleted, restricted, or object to its use
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting earlier use)
- Complain to the Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC)
Send requests to hello@theblindspot-th.com. We will respond promptly and within 30 days.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and the back office is only accessible to team members with their own accounts.
Changes
We may update this notice from time to time. The latest version, with its date, is always on this page.
